Mo Sbihi Presents Awards at Celebration of Achievement Evening

On Thursday 15th November, Chessington Community College held its annual celebration of Achievement evening. The purpose of the evening was to celebrate the achievements and progress of a large number of students throughout the last academic year. The evening was punctuated with a variety of excellent performances of dance, drama and music.

Almost 100 students received their awards from London 2012 Team GB Olympic rowing Bronze medallist Moe Sbihi. Moe also delivered a very motivational and inspirational speech to a large audience in the college’s theatre, illustrating the journey from his school days to Olympic success.

Students received awards in recognition of excellent achievement and progress in all curriculum areas, and there were also 7 special awards for outstanding achievement and commitment within the college.

• Student Council’s most valued student award – Connor Lowe
• Mike Cowley award for service to the college – Vinny Preece
• CCC Young Technologist award – Tom Henning
• Contribution to Physical Education – Elliott Blagrove
• Charlie O’Donoghue Sports Person award – Laura Ellis
